The story of Emek, was started in 1929 in Tirilye, a historical village of Bursa. Ahmet Uyar and his son Sait Uyar started production in their atelier, by extracting oil from the fruitful Tirilye olive trees.
When the sons of Sait Uyar took over the leadership, the production was moved to an industrialized factory in Bursa and the product range expanded, including sunflower oil and corn oil.
To maintain global quality standarts, Emek became the first edible oil producer in Turkey to implement Ice-Condensing Technologies in its deodorization unit to prevent the formation of transfats, 3-mcpds and unwanted smells.
The crushing factory in Bandırma started operation with a capacity of 350 tons per day.

The story of Emek, was started in 1929 in Tirilye, a historical village of Bursa. Ahmet Uyar and his son Sait Uyar started production in their atelier, by extracting oil from the fruitful Tirilye olive trees.

The olive trees were so generous in return to the hard work put into them, their products were called Emek – which translates as labor and hard work.

When the sons of Sait Uyar took over the leadership, the production was moved to an industrialized factory in Bursa and the product range expanded, including sunflower oil and corn oil.

Golden oils of carefully harvested seeds and fruits…

Emek collects carefully harvested seeds from the local farmers, extracts the oil in its press and refinery plants and delivers to the kitchens. With 90 years of experience and the first day’s taste, it has been the invisible hero of the family dinners and the secret ingredient that mothers inherit to their children.

Emek perpetuates quality management activities and food safety inspections with the aim of continuous improvement. This process is led by preventative approach based on scientific evidence and team work with open communication in every step of the operation.

Safe Food

To maintain global standards, Emek is the first edible oil producer in Turkey that implemented the ice-condensing technology in the refining process.

Ice-condensing technology uses strong vacuum to lower the refining temperatures under 230 oC to prevent the formation of contaminants, such as trans fats and 3-mcpd and unwanted smells. Refining the oil in lower temperatures prevents the loss of nutritive values and keeps 30% more vitamin E in the product.

Emek produces safe food that guarantees the control parameters of global quality and food safety standards and customer satisfaction.
