The story of Emek, was started in 1929 in Tirilye, a historical village of Bursa. Ahmet Uyar and his son Sait Uyar started production in their atelier, by extracting oil from the fruitful Tirilye olive trees. The olive trees were so generous in return to the hard work put into them, their products were called Emek – which translates as labor and hard work.When the sons of Sait Uyar took over the leadership, the production was moved to an industrialized factory in Bursa and the product range expanded, including sunflower oil and corn oil.

Emek collects carefully harvested seeds from the local farmers, extracts the oil in its press and refinery plants and delivers to the kitchens. With 90 years of experience and the first day’s taste, it has been the invisible hero of the family dinners and the secret ingredient that mothers inherit to their children.
